I think carroll can still be a big player for us. And all the pressure will no longer be on him.
No way back for Nolan. Even Sam must see that now!

They can be Sakho and Valencias boot boys

Two more useful additions to one of the best squads we've ever had.

Carroll in the hole where Zarate & Downing have played could work very well, Valencia & Sakho running off of flick ons could be deadly.

I think they could make the bench as replacements for Cole & Vaz Te.

Nobby will be a 'last 20 minutes' player now, as he would have been already if the squad permitted it.
Carroll would require a change of set up to start regularly in my view - perhaps Teddy can work on him... can't see why we would bother if the boys continue to turn in this sort of performance.

That's not a bad idea about Carroll mum but he'd have to be up to speed in order to keep up and link play. I'm not sure he'd be in that position until near the end of the season with his injury problems and by that time we'd already be used to playing a certain way with the current players.

Squad players. Strong squad with them back but not always starters

Barring injuries I don't think even Allardyce can justify starting them. Both would be very good impact subs for the foreseeable future and will probably be more effective as a result.

Actually I don't think we should be dismissing Carroll too much as when he's on it he's a monstrous, almost unplayable threat and now with all these fast attacking players buzzing around him like wasps we could have yet another dimension. Nolan's pretty much finished now though barring a serious injury crisis.

Carroll still can be a big player for us without a doubt but Nolan can do one for all I care. Best thing is with the strikers and team in general playing well, hopefully won't be so much pressure on Andy during the games as well as less pressure on Sam to bring him back straight away when he's recovered. Hopefully he can just be eased back into things and finally get over his injury problems.

Carroll has a big part to play when we need to switch it up we now have options. Nolan on the other hand i honestly can not see what he will offer in place of any of the midfielders.

I make you right, chad.
Sulli needs to be in a position to disseminate them if Sam goes, as they are part of Sam's entourage. I think he is on the way to achieving that.

Nolan should be released. He is nowhere near premier league quality and we have an abundance of other options.
Carroll on the other hand is still useful if he ever gets fit, but the way Enner and Sakho are playing he's going to be bench for me.

Re: Carroll and Nolan

Nolan is with us for this season and next. His wages are prohibitively high, so no other club will pick him up before that and I cannot really see us subsidising his wages when leaving (although we've done the same with Maiga).
Nolan can still do his bit from the bench though. But I really cannot see him fitting in as a starter anymore. Him being our topscorer for the last two seasons is probably more indicative of our tactical system during that period than Nolan's ability as a goalscorer.

Good bet you`ll be praising them in January when we need them because of suspensions and injuries.

The proof in whether we're going to progress is if Sam brings Nolan back in. There's no room for him and Downing appears to be on fire.
